KOS

Greek island – Kos is situated next to Turkish coast in the eastern part of Aegean Sea. It belongs to the Dodecanese Archipelago. About V century B.C. this craggy island was place where Hippocrates lived. Touristic season lasts from May till late October. The most visited towns are: Kos, Mastichari, Marmara, Tigaki, Kardamena, Lambi, Psalidi. The capital city of island Kos is city with the same name. This is port town with picturesque promenade which is overgrown with palm trees.

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS
Kos island is rich in Roman and hellenistic ruins. For sure worth of visiting are remains of ancient temple of Asclepius and Platanus of Hippocrates. At tourists’ disposal there are also remains of middle-aged castle of The Knights Hospitaller. In Marmara we can adore well exposed figures of Kalimnos and Pserimos, which make the vista even more beautiful.

Kardamena is often visited fishing village, which long sandy-gravelly beaches attract crowds of tourists. Spreading urbanization made this town a real tourist centre full of shops, pubs and taverns. There is a possibility of going on a cruise to a nearby island –Nissiros. It is for many visitors unforgettable experience thanks to beautiful views.

A trip to Lambi enables you to meet with unusual Bros Therma known to everyone because of hot springs, which fall into sheltered with rocks sea through the canal from rocky cave. Hot sea water will be for sure nice memory. It is similar to pure water on the seashore of Tigaki island which is known of flowers and rich of plants.

ENTERTAINMENT

Kos turns out to be not only great place to visit but also a paradise for the lovers of water sports. Disciplines which dominate are: windsurfing, water skiing and parasailing (flight over the surface with parachute which is being pulled by a speed-boat.
